Solution Description:

The LEO PNT Testbed will provide a means to evaluate the contribution of LEO-based PNT technologies for high availability and accuracy PNT service delivery in GNSS jammed and spoofed environments at commercial cost and pace by leveraging commercial space investments made by Globalstar and DoD small business investments in software-defined space system components (space/control/user). Through an in-place agreement between Globalstar and Echo Ridge to explore the government and commercial market for resilient PNT demand, access to an operating LEO constellation, ground network and necessary technical data can be leverage to rapidly conduct PNT technology evaluations and demonstrations, and provide a resilient PNT service offering for government and commercial markets. GPS is easily denied, and warfighters in tactical environments do not have a reliable method to obtain Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) information when GPS is not available, putting their lives and their missions in jeopardy. Additionally, space is the ultimate high ground, and including space-based assets in a complete PNT solution system is a critical component of increasing resiliency and robustness of PNT for our warfighters to ensure national security and superiority. Historically, evaluating new space-oriented technologies at commercial cost and pace has been difficult.
